Instructions to Authors

Andhra Pradesh Journal of Agricultural Sciences is published quarterly (i.e.March, June, September and December). However, the union reserves the right to publish the journal as a whole or in part depending upon the material and the finances available. Manuscripts including illustrations should be sent in duplicate to the Editor-in-chief, Andhra Pradesh Journal of Agricultural Sciences, S.V. Agricultural College,Tirupati along with a soft copy.

The soft copy should be sent to editor@apjas.org.

 

The papers forwarded to the Editor-In-Chief for publication are understood to be offered to Andhra Pradesh Journal of Agricultural Science exclusively. The authors should give an authors undertaking certificate forward by the Head of the Department.Submission of a paper is taken to mean that the results reported have not been published and are not being considered for publication elsewhere.The responsibility for statement whether facts, opinion, rests entirely with the authors  thereof. On receipt of the article an acknowledgement with a registration number shall be sent to the corresponding author, who submits the manuscript. This number should invariably be quoted while making further enquiries about of publication.

All papers are referred. The author is informed of the article’s acceptance/rejection as well as the comments of the referrers, should a revision be thought necessary. The editorial board decides on the final acceptance of the manuscript and in which issue of the journal the paper is to be published. The editorial board reserves the right to accept or reject any paper and the decision of the Editorial board is final.

The format of the articles should be as per the guidelines mentioned below

Manuscript should be written in English. It should be concise and should not exceed 10 pages including tables and illustrations. Manuscript should be typed in Times New Roman, font size 12 double spaced on A4 size paper with 1.5 cm margin all around.

The manuscript should contain A short and clear title, with all capital letters for each word.Names of the authors should be bold and address of author should contain the initial capital for each word.First Author / Corresponding Author must be distinguished clearly with an asterisk mark (*). Mail ID and address for correspondence of the first author/corresponding author should be clearly mentioned. No need of the address and mail IDs of other authors associated.

The contents of the manuscript may be organized under: ABSTRACT, KEY WORDS,INTRODUCTION, MATERIAL AND METHODS, RESULTS AND DISCUSSION, CONCLUSION,ACKOWLEDGEMENTS, and REFERENCES.

For research notes separate titles for abstract, introduction, material and methods, results and  discussion need not be given.

Abstract should be brief and informative not exceeding 100 words. It should state the scope of work and the significant findings and should be complete enough for use by abstracting services.

Key words should be maximum of 5 in alphabetical order and should be suitable for indexing.

Introduction should be brief and limited to the statement of the problem or the aim of the experiment.

The review of literature should be pertinent to the type of work.

Material and methods should include relevant details on the nature of material,experimental design, the technique employed and the statistical methods used. For well known methods citation of references will suffice.

The results and discussion should be combined to avoid repetition.

References should be arranged alphabetically.

Tables should be typed on separate sheets. Each table should be numbered with Arabic numbers followed by a heading stating it content clearly and concisely.

Illustrations which are of good quality and are essential for clear understanding of the paper can be accepted. Ensure that table and illustrates must be specially referred to in the text.

Photographs for publication should be of high contrast on glossary paper and should not be folded or creased. Photograph number and title of article with authors name should be given on the back of the photographs.

References should be arranged alphabetically and double spaced. Make sure that all references in the text are listed and vice versa.
